A recent medical report suggests that tablets that lower blood pressure and cholesterol should be offered to people over 55 years old.
“Statins”, which dramatically cut the risk of heart attacks and strokes, are being heralded as an answer to the increasing number of heart problem patients in the UK. If the reports’ advice is followed, all over-55s would be offered the drugs, even if their blood pressure levels were normal.
However, the drugs have been found to deplete the body’s natural level of Co-enyzme Q10, an essential antioxidant required in virtually every cell of the body and needed for good heart health and brain function. CoQ10 tends to be lower in those who have high cholesterol, and so the introduction of statins to such a body could drastically decrease levels of this compound.
Lennie Taylor, Managing Director of the The Truly Natural Company, which supplies a range of men’s and women’s health supplements and weight loss supplements, believes that people suffering from high blood pressure and cholesterol could boost the benefits of prescribed drugs by using CoQ10 as a natural supplement. This would allow the levels of C0Q10 to be restored, while the positive effects of the statins would remain unaffected. He said, “Co-enzyme Q10 is becoming more recognisable for its health benefits and so we’re proud to introduce it to our range of natural health supplements.”
Co-enzyme Q10 would make a welcome addition to your daily health supplement regime, as research suggests it slows the aging process, Increases energy level, Strengthens the heart, reduces heart failure, Lowers blood pressure, Reduces LDL cholesterol, Improves immune function, Promotes weight loss and Enhances endurance and aerobic performance.
Dr Taylor added, “For those who are concerned about the long-term effects of statins, Co-enzyme Q10 could provide a safe natural addition to counteract the side effects”
