Krill oil is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. The most important Omega-3 fatty acids are DHA and EPA, which are found only in seafood. Because krill is low on the marine food chain, environmental toxins are absent. Krill oil is free of contaminants such as heavy metals, dioxins, and PCBs. Omega-3 fatty acids from krill are linked with phospholipids and astaxanthin and are more readily metabolized than other fish oils.
